YEARS ESTABLISHED:
We understand that the business has been established for c 30 years and relocated to the current production facility c 20 years ago.

Figures for the year ended 31 March 2015 are due imminently. Sales of £567,420 were reported for the year ended 31 March 2014. This generated a gross profit of £348,607 (61.4%) before wages and other overheads. An abridged net profit of c £74,000 was indicated for the year, being very similar to the out-turn in the year ended 31 March 2013.

STAFF:
The business is family run (father, son and mother, the latter in a bookkeeping and administrative capacity) with the assistance of 9-12 staff depending upon the season.

REASON FOR SALE:
The older generation are now approaching retirement age and following discussion within the family it has been agreed that a sale is the preferred option.

OPENING HOURS:
Baking is carried out 7 days per week. Staff start work at c 5pm, finishing between 12 noon and 2pm on normal days with later departure times generally on Fridays.

The business occupies a single storey industrial unit under a pitched and tiled roof which forms part of a larger complex mainly occupied by the landlord. In a rural setting on the edge of a village, but with excellent main road links and on-site parking facilities, the unit is ideal for the purpose comprising c 103 sq. metres of usable floor space (c 1,100 sq. feet).

The building is long and narrow. A storage area and loading bay leads to the production area with prep tables, deck oven, rotary oven, roll plant conveyor and bank of provers as well as mixers and a large walk in refrigeration room (landlord’s inventory) is used in the retarding process.

A portable building located in the car parking area is used as a staff changing room, alongside which there is a small storage shed.
