Business Description

Hilton Smythe welcomes to the market a hair dressing chain. The sale includes four exceptional unisex hair salons. The first salon was first established in 1997, and our client has built up the businesses over the years. Our client has run these salons to a very high standard but is now looking to sell due to the desire to focus on other interests.

The salons offer a range of hair and beauty services. Two of the salons also offer a great range of beauty treatments, such as tanning, nails, massages and more. The salons have each built up an enviable clientele base.

The businesses generate a combined turnover of around £900,000 per annum with a gross profit of 80%. This is a fantastic healthy turnover, which could be increased.

One way Hilton Smythe feels the new owner could boost turnover would be to offer beauty treatments at all of the salons. Hair and beauty are highly complementary to each other and this should be something the new owner looks into introducing.

The salons have managers and a co-ordinator in place so the salons actually run themselves. This would be a great opportunity for a purchaser who is looking to work hands-on at the salons. They are all situated in the North East so it would be possible for a husband and wife team to manage. If the purchaser was to manage the stores, the staff wages will decrease; therefore boosting gross profit.

The businesses have a website which looks presentable. The site is also easy to use. There are options for each of the salons, the pages have opening hours, information about the salon and a booking system. The booking system allows for customers to see which staff members are free and when they can book in for an appointment.

The website also shows tutorials of different hair styles for customers to try out. Our client has put in place generous offers to attract clientele such as 50% discounts for new customers, loyalty cards and offers for NHS, police and students. These are great ways of attracting new clientele and keeping existing custom.

All of the salons are located in affluent locations and this would be a great opportunity for a husband and wife team looking for an exceptional well-run business. The salons come fully fitted with all equipment included in the sale. Hilton Smythe highly advise early viewings of all of the salons to take in the full potential.
