Located on the cliff top between Shanklin and Lake, the Overstrand is an imposing character residence occuping a stunning position which enjoys panoramic views over Sandown Bay to the English Channel beyond, and across to Culver Cliffs. Originally built as a grand family home in 1908 the property offers substantial accommodation and grounds extending to approximately 1.7 acres of well established gardens comprising lawns, mature trees, tennis court and heated swimming pool in an enclosed patio area providing a lovely sheltered spot to enjoy the tranquil setting. This detached period home was converted to a 15 bedroom hotel in 1958 whilst retaining many of its original features.

To the southern end of the garden there is gated access to the cliff path which provides pedestrian access to Shanklin, Lake and Sandown. The cliff path itself lies lower than the gardens allowing them to remain private and secluded.
The Business
The current owners have enjoyed 35 seasons at the Overstrand and are now looking to retire. The hotel trades between Easter and the end of October and caters for school parties both in the spring/ summer and the autumn. During school holidays private guests are catered for on a bed and breakfast basis.
