The business is currently run by the owners with the assistance of cleaning staff as and when required. The prime trading season is from Easter to October but the Guest House still maintains a steady trade over winter months with high demand from contractors, medical students on placements and business people, only closing when the owners desire.
Rosemount Guest House has been operating as guest house for over 20 years and over this time has developed a great reputation and benefits greatly from much repeat trade. With 8 comfortable letting rooms; set out as either singles, doubles, twins or family rooms, the guest house offers good quality accommodation to a variety of clientele including workers, tourists and families. All rooms have been upgraded with new beds (many of which benefit from having zip-link beds for greater flexibility), furniture, carpeting and décor. Prices range from £52 a night up to £105 with all prices including a ‘hearty’ Scottish breakfast, cooked fresh to order and prepared with locally sourced produce. The current owners also offer to prepare pack lunches and evening meals if booked in advance; this could be expanded with new owners offering a regular lunch/evening menu.
The business has its own website but does not take online bookings or use the likes of Bookings.com or Laterooms.com which could significantly increase business during the quieter periods.
Located in the centre of Buckie on the town’s East Church Street, Rosemount Guest House benefits from its prominent trading position on the main commercial trading road with views out over the Moray Firth. Neighbouring properties consist primarily of residential dwellings. This affluent coastal town offers great amenities, services and facilities including primary and secondary schools, health and medical care services, local shops, supermarkets, banks and post office. As well as many restaurants, hotels, cafes and pubs. Buckie facilitates good vehicular access and is located just off the A98 Elgin to Fraserburgh road. The property is well serviced with excellent road and public transport networks and offers easy access for Aberdeen and Inverness. Buckie is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas of Aberdeenshire and Moray with their outstanding scenery, host of historical, cultural, outdoor and leisure pursuits. On offer are rolling countryside, idyllic beaches, rugged glens, championship golf courses, salmon and sea trout fishing, Whisky Trails, seaside towns, market burghs and turreted castles. The area boasts the most extensive and diverse tourist trade. Buckie is also either the start or end of the very popular Speyside Way and is also one of the main stopping points on the Moray Coastal Trail.
