Traded by our clients since 2002, Lazy Wave Café offers an extensive menu of freshly cooked hot snacks including breakfasts, burgers, jacket potatoes, paninis, omelettes, sandwiches/baguettes, salads and ploughmans daily. It is also worth noting, although not currently exploited, that the operators have exclusive right to sell Ice Cream and Confectionery on the beach from Shanklin Chine stream to Shanklin Pier (by one vendor). There is potential to open in the evenings and perhaps build on the beverage trade by serving alcohol, subject to consent.
Lazy Wave Café could not, in our opinion, be better located for its purpose, being adjacent to Shanklin's ever popular sandy beaches and particularly favourable for its customers with young children, not needing to cross a road to use the café. There are also a multitude of beach huts adjacent and public toilets close by, all contributing to the very high popularilty of this beachside business. Shanklin is the Island's major town on the south coast and serves as a day-to-day needs centre, particularly for the Sandown, Shanklin and Lake conurbation, themselves wrapping around Sandown Bay. The sandy beaches and leisure offer of the area ensures high numbers of visitors and tourists, boosting the local population of around 19,500.
