The nursery was established in about 1996 and acquired through Transagents by our client in June 2007. She is now selling to emigrate. Registration is for children aged between 1 and 5 years with 26 children being permitted at any one time. Fees are currently £3.00 per hour but have not been revised in recent times. In addition to the usual activities there are also trips to the park and library, and although the nursery provides cheese and crackers, the children bring their own packed lunches.
Annual accounts for the year ended 31 August 2009 confirm that fees reached £68,148. Our client forecasts that for the 2010 year, fees will reach about £77,240 to produce a net profit of about £19,613.
As a great many young families now depend upon two incomes, the nursery offers a very valuable service and we also understand that tax credits will pay up to 80% of the hourly charge.
