Recent research has shown that almost one in ten people in the UK have a domestic cleaner. That is a 24% rise in just 5 years. The rise in demand appears to have been driven particularly by the under 35’s. Almost twice as many under 35’s now have a cleaner when compared to over 35’s.

Diamond Home Support Annual Meeting 2015 was held on 10 November. "This year has been our biggest annual meeting yet with more franchisees attending this year than ever before. This year's event included a workshop element, presentations from franchisees and an external speaker, Brenda Cameron, who spoke on goal setting and motivation.
We also announced our 2015 award winners as follows: Franchisee of the Year went to Connie in Norwich; our Runner-Up award was won jointly by Tim in South Lincolnshire and Astrid and Ian in Callington; our Best Newcomer went to Lynda in Windsor. Diamond Home Support launches a new more customer friendly website. As our network of franchisees has grown so has the volume of traffic to our website. We wanted to make the customer experience on our website much clearer and quick and so we undertook a complete redesign over the summer and that has now been launched at www.diamondhomesupport.com
The site is fully mobile and tablet responsive which means whatever device you view our website with it will optimise the display automatically.

Diamond Home Support hold first Regional Meeting in the South West of England. “On 10th March we held our first Regional Meeting and was greeted with a full 100% attendance by our franchisees in the South West.
We had a terrific day discussing various aspects of our business at the Exeter Court Hotel. We all learnt a good deal from each other and it was a great way to spend a day. “I signed up as a Diamond Home Support franchisee in April 2014. My original ambition had been to have a care company providing domiciliary care (i.e. personal care as well as domestic services); however, the amount of money required for this was enormous. I came across Diamond Home Support during the course of my research into domiciliary care franchises, and asked Andrew if I could focus mainly on the “Home Assist” service, to which the answer was “yes”.
I duly agreed my territory and signed up as a franchisee, and I have not looked back since! Admittedly, things were slow to begin with but, having been in business on my own account before, I knew what to expect. I was not at all disheartened by the fact that it took a while for the calls to start coming in, and a little longer for me to be at a stage where I could actually take money out of the business; this is something which you have to expect when you first start up. I have made my share of mistakes along the way; mainly in terms of being sucked into various forms of advertising. However, I have now found what works for me and am sticking to that; a leaflet drop approximately every three months, and a once a month advertisement with an editorial in my local newspaper.
Today I am building both a reputation AND a business, and I can honestly say that I have never been happier! “I joined Diamond Home Support in October 2014 after almost a year of researching other franchises and business opportunities in the local area. But I decided on this one for a number of reasons:
1) I am no salesman! In this business, you can be successful without necessarily being a good salesman. You do need to be prepared to work hard though.
2) The business model is easy to understand and follow, even for someone like me.
3) This is a people business, so you need good people skills. (I think I do!)
4) Running a business like this gives me great flexibility to work around my other (family) commitments.

The first few months are hard, pounding the pavements delivering leaflets and wondering where your first client will come from. But if you put the effort in then, the rewards come later – and come they will. Twelve months in, and still almost half of my clients come from leaflets. People can hang on to them for months before ringing, but my advice is at every opportunity early on, get those leaflets out. You can target areas where you’ve got cleaners.
Support from HQ in far away Kent is always there. I’ve had various issues – with cleaners and with clients – and Andrew has always been on hand to help and offer advice. Prior to joining the Franchise, I found him to be honest and realistic in what is achievable in this business. It is not a get rich quick scheme, to get any kind of rewards you must be prepared to work hard and offer something your competitors do not. It’s all about customer service. Read the manual, follow the guidelines, tweak them if necessary to fit into your way of working. I’ve no regrets about joining.”
