Starting up a new business can be fast and furious.
Direct Business Advice helps You and Your clients to succeed.

Join us as a Regional Director and be part of our winning team!
Direct Business Advice has been successfully supporting and advising local businesses in and around Harrogate since 2002. We’ve become well known for providing face to face assistance characterised by expertise, honesty and flexibility.

Following the closure of the Business Link network, demand for our unique service has increased and it is not uncommon for us to receive enquires from potential customers hundreds of miles away. This has resulted in a unique franchise opportunity and we need business professionals like you to manage your local region by joining us as our Regional Director. If you are commercially aware, enthusiastic and have the ability to get on with people from all walks of life then a Direct Business Advice Franchise may be the business you have been waiting for.

Understanding the demand for the service you’ll be offering

Using external business advisors and outsourcing certain functions is nothing new to british businesses, they have been doing this for many years in one form or another. Many SME’s in particular have benefited greatly by hiring IT specialists, Telemarketers, Bookkeepers, PR companies and so on giving them niche expertise without the regular payroll costs. It is estimated that Britain’s outsourcing industry is now almost as big as the financial services sector, generating more than £200 billion a year. (Source: The Times, Outsourcing Industry review May 2011). The demand for Direct Business Advice is huge and as companies large and small cut back on staff costs our opportunity increases.

As a franchise owner there is virtually no business sector that you can’t help which means there are no restrictions on your income. This breadth of opportunity will give you the chance to build your business whilst at the same time letting you make time to find the right work/work life balance to suit your needs.
How your franchise works.

Unlike business coaches you won’t just dish out advice, your clients will love you because you’ll help them at a very practical level on and off their premises. You’ll find that when you are with your clients they’ll appreciate sharing their experiences with you and using you as a sounding board for new ideas and not just hiring you to complete certain tasks or projects. In any given week you’ll have real variety, some of your clients may require regular book keeping assistance others may want business plans and some may ask you to help with People issues we even attend board meetings and help those businesses to define and implement their strategy.

In addition to working within your own capabilities you and the rest of the Direct Business Advice team will utilise our business hub which has specific details of skilled individuals and companies that can help you. You will also use the DBA Academy with it’s unique SME Zone which is a comprehensive online resource with procedures and advice for running a small business. Together the hub and the academy give a total solution to the issues that any of your clients are facing. You and the hub members can provide assistance in areas including Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing and People whilst retaining your profit opportunity and your one to one client relationship. A client gets the full benefit when we implement a total solution with you at the helm.
What experience do I need?

We have found that clients like our down to earth approach and appreciate that our broad ranging experience can give them access to advice and good judgement on the issues that exist within their business. In broad terms you will deliver advice that you have expertise in, e.g. marketing or financial management and then utilise the hub and your colleagues within Direct Business Advice to carry out any other work, either with you directly or on your behalf for your customers. The DBA Academy provides invaluable reference materials and tools as you go along. It is important that you have a commercial background and the gravitas to speak to small business owners but you don’t need to be a former PLC Chairman or super successful high flyer, we’re looking for a professional demeanour with common sense and with your commitment to learn new skills we know that you’ll be successful with our unique business blueprint..

What can I earn?

A Direct Business Advice franchise can be run as an owner operator business or, in due course, as a management franchise where you coordinate your own team who look after certain specific requirements e.g admin support or sales help. Just on your own though, we’ll recommend a typical fee structure that is proven in our line of work whilst allowing you the freedom to negotiate your own terms with your clients. Either way, you can expect a minimum professional daily rate for your time equivalent to £50,000 in the first year and a six figure income potential in future years.

We’ll also grant you an exclusive territory to market your franchise in whilst preserving the right for you to work with your own personal and professional network where ever they are in the UK.
Training & Support.

We’ve made it our business to provide assistance and guidance to small business owners so you can be sure that when you join Direct Business Advice you’ll benefit from a comprehensive initial and ongoing training programme designed around your previous experience and your income expectations.

Direct Business Advice is an accredited SFEDI centre of excellence which means your opportunities for personal career development are unrivaled and you can work towards a number of formal qualifications with us that complement your business and the direction you’d like to take in the future. SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative) is the government recognised, not-for-profit standards setting body for both Business Enterprise and Business Support.

Remember, our whole business revolves around growing small businesses so there is no one better than us in the franchise industry to help you succeed.

Launch Assist Programme

Getting your customers is the most important aspect in any small business, and we should know because many of our clients seek our guidance on this very issue! Your franchise launch is a special moment and we have designed a LAUNCH ASSIST PROGRAMME that gets you in business and talking to clients from Day 1.

Using a variety of marketing techniques including fax and e-shots, conventional direct mail, telemarketing, social media and PR we’ll launch your campaign with a bang whilst you are in training and teach you all that you need to know to deal with enquiries and then grow your business in the crucial early months.
Franchising works!

Franchising is proven to be the most profitable route into self employment with around 90% of all franchises trading profitably. This is because when you acquire a franchise you are, in effect, replicating an already successful business model.

All franchisees get the immediate benefit of a successful business owners research and development, allowing them to hit the ground running and avoiding the costly mistakes that going it alone often entails.

When you are a franchise owner you are in business for yourself but not by yourself and it is for this reason that franchising attracts many shrewd investors and entrepreneurs.

Perhaps the most attractive part of franchising is that you are creating a business that can be sold on at a future date for a multiple of its annual profits.
