Clean Cut Gardening
Clean Cut is a well-established and rapidly expanding network of dedicated, hardworking and professional gardening businesses. It is run by entrepreneurs who are building a thriving, customer-focused enterprise which provides a great standard of living for its franchisees and their families.
The system is the brainchild of Clean Cut founder Simon Studd, who built up his successful garden business in Sussex from the humble beginnings of a lawn mower in the back of his Ford Escort car to a business which runs without him ever having to leave the office.
With proven methodologies in all aspects of a garden maintenance business - marketing, sales, operations, human resources, finance and extensive training - Simon has devised a system based on the support he felt he needed but lacked when he started his business.
The major concern of any new business venture is will it work? With Clean Cut’s proven marketing and delivery methods you can start with absolute confidence of success.
Our franchisees have the ability to make a significant return on their investment and should recoup their initial first-year investment with outstanding returns in years two, three and beyond.
Never mowed a lawn or trimmed a hedge? No need to worry. The comprehensive training programme will ensure you deliver a quality job from day one of your business and put you a cut above the competition!
Running your business can be lonely and challenging but with Clean Cut’s proven methodologies and the ability to draw on the experiences of others in the network you will never feel alone.
Any good business measures the effectiveness of its marketing and understands what works and what does not. Clean Cut’s unique lead generation planner enables you to draw on data to create a marketing plan which is based on actual results achieved in the past rather than relying on guesswork.
The planner tells you exactly what marketing methods to employ and also the results you should expect in terms of number of sales and sales value. This means you can grow your business faster and better than someone trying to start up alone.
Build a team
Want to own a business, not just do a job? Everything you need to know about employing and managing a team of gardeners has been created for you so finding and retaining the right staff is as simple as possible.
A business beyond you
You can create a business where you can draw an income without leaving the office. The unique management system means that if you wish you can build a business where you no longer have to work on the tools, enabling you to focus on increasing sales.
Not Another Award!
I know, yawn yawn we have won one again! We honestly hate to brag but this one is very special to us here at Clean Cut, not only because MR Clean Cut himself Simon Studd was recognised but because it’s an accolade which means a lot to him personally.
For as long as he can remember Simon has been attending BNI a weekly networking group where business owners from all sorts of businesses get together over breakfast to pass business amongst themselves and discuss the challenges and opportunities they face.
Last year thousands of BNI members passed millions of referrals generating billions worth of business to each other
With over 500 chapters in the UK, over 700,000 referrals were passed resulting in over £200 million worth of business for the members.
In the last 10 years, Simon’s chapter alone has generated over 18,000 referrals, and the chapter has generated over £5,000,000 of business. (Don’t worry Simon has had his fair share!)
Membership of a BNI chapter is like having dozens of sales people working for you. All members of the chapter will carry a supply of each other’s business cards around with them. When they meet someone who could benefit from each other’s products or services, they pass on the relevant business card with a recommendation. It is as simple as that!
It goes without saying that getting into one of these groups can be difficult but rest assured with our links to BNI we haven’t failed to find a franchisee a group yet.
Now this morning Simon was recognised by his fellow members for his contribution to the chapter and was absolutely delighted. ‘To receive recognition from my peers the people have watched and helped me grow my business and then the franchise is very special’ said Simon. ‘It means so much when people you know and have enjoyed good and bad times recognise your achievements’
Well done Simon but don’t get to carried away we don’t want to have to make the doors in the office wider to fit your head!
Franchise Show 2016
Just this weekend, Simon, Josh Gary and Franchisee Stuart where up at the Excel center in London for clean cut franchisethe franchise exhibition 2016. During the two days of the event we spoke to over 50 prospective franchisees answering their questions and providing them with more information as to why we think we have a fantastic opportunity here at Clean Cut.
The people we spoke to came from all works of life from management consultants to sales man to tradesman but all of them had a few things in common.
- They where unhappy in their current jobs or businesses
- They all felt unappreciated by their employers
- They all where working far too hard for far to little
- They had all decided to do something about it rather than let another year slip by without making a change
- Over the next few weeks we will be meeting again with many of them as they start their journey towards opening their own gardening businesses.
If you missed the show but have something in common with these guys then maybe you should meet us too?______________________________________________________
National Conference 2016
It’s the time of the year that we get all the team together again for the National conference.
We are pleased to report some stunning results for the last year and some really exciting growth plans for the 2016.
Of our franchisees:
33% have exceeded their goals for 2015
- 50% are on target
- 17% are below (But only slightly and we know why and what to do about it)
- None have failed to make a profit.
- All are making more money than they were in their previous employment.
- We have a 0% churn (We have not lost a single franchisee)
To say we are chuffed is an understatement.
The big thing about getting a room full of franchisees together is the vast amount of knowledge transfer that occurs between everyone.
You see, unlike starting up a business for yourself being part of Clean Cut means you are not alone, you get to run a business for yourself but not by yourself, not only do you get the experience and knowledge of myself, a business adviser and a sales coach you also get to tap into the experiences of your peers. And that is priceless.
The selflessness of the team never ceases to amaze us, the way they support and help each other is just fantastic, they even have their own what’s apps group!
As well as a great photo opportunity we managed to cram some really good stuff into the day including a full review of the past year and everyone’s plans for the next, some teamwork around our marketing plans for the forthcoming year and a dedicated facebook training for the guys.
And like all good meetings it finished in the pub!
Simon chairs the Chamber of Commerce
For the next six months, entrepreneur and multi-award winner Simon Studd, MD of Clean Cut Franchise Ltd will be taking over the Chamber of commerce.
This is the latest of a string of accolades received by our founder who has one no fewer than three business awards form the chamber in recent years.
Simon said: “I’m delighted to be taking on the role of chairman. I want to build on the good work that has gone on before me.”
He continued: “I’m passionate about networking and the resources within the Chamber of Commerce have been invaluable in helping me set up my franchise.”
A high profile in your local community is a sure fire way to generate new business and it is great to see our illustrious leader leading from the front.
Peacehaven hits 150 regular customers
Top man in our Peacehaven franchise has every right to look happy in the photo as he has just signed up his 150th customer, that's over £60,000 worth of business without him having to do any other work!
It doesn't stop there as coupled with the vast amount of work he is generating Peacehaven is now operating two vans to get all the work done in what is already a record breaking year for Clean Cut.
And its only July..........
TREVOR HAS HIS BIRTHDAY
We're not gutted by bad weather
A little rain doesn't stop the Clean Cut team from working and earning, just ask our former policeman Luke who has developed an insane love of clearing gutters.
Not content with just clearing them he's now even made a marketing video to promote one of his favorite services.
Being a true member of the team he has even shared his little gem with his fellow franchisees, making them all their own copy.
You can view the video on Luke’s Facebook page here.
Welcome to the marketing department Luke!
Clean Cut shall go to the ball
Keeping up with our tradition of supporting worthy causes the Clean Cut team recently supported a charity ball in aid of Stem 4.
The aim was to raise the all-important funds that are needed for STEM 4 to keep doing the work they do, helping with the prevention and early recognition of teenagers suffering with depression & anxiety, self-harm, addiction and eating disorders.
1 in 10 teenagers in the UK suffers with one of these disorders and the work that STEM 4 does helps people recognize the early signs and prevent them from going too far.
We cant publish to many of the photos of our beloved founder dancing on this website for fear of getting a x rating but you can see him here with Kimmie our Business administrator early in the evening before too much wine was consumed!
Simon also supported the charity in the raffle and came home with a rather expensive DVD of the Grinch signed by Jim Carey. The night itself raised a whopping £21,500 and Clean Cut were proud to play there part in such a fantastic effort. Not to mention the fun we had along the way!
FIND OUT HOW CLEAN CUT CHANGED LUKES LIFE FOREVER
A year ago Luke was a policeman, he worked long unsociable hours for little reward in a job he was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with. He hardly saw his kids and he and his wife were ships that passed in the night.
Luke decided to take the leap and change his life forever. Here is what Luke posted on Facebook just 1 week ago.
‘1 year exactly since I first enquired about running my own business’
‘Quite fitting then, that this weekend I’ve had the freedom to take Finn to his first proper swimming lesson, to his first basketball game, to his first rugby lesson and his first day at school. Pretty much a win on all fronts!’
Two days later his wife Juliette posted the following.
‘It’s been a good weekend, and for the first time they get us both on special occasions. We get to be a family xxx’
To follow Luke’s story why not like his facebook page
WHEN THE CUSTOMER SAID FROG, PAUL HOPPED TO IT!
From time to time here at Clean Cut we get an odd request, as new franchisee Paul recently found out when filling in a customer’s pond turned into a frog rehousing project, fortunately both Customers and frogs are now happy with their new surroundings.
After three months, 135 enquiries and a full diary, Paul is starting to forget what the fear of starting a new business felt like. Now he’s come across the first quirky Job we warned him could happen from time to time.
You can imagine our surprise at Clean Cut HQ when Paul phoned us and asked ‘How do I charge for rehousing Frogs?’ (And it’s more complicated than you think!) However in true Clean Cut style Paul rose to the occasion and got the job done filling in the customers two ponds and creating the garden they desired.
Prior to joining Clean Cut Paul was a green keeper at his local golf club and was pouring in the hours working for someone else and as he puts it ‘not getting the recognition I deserved’. ‘I wanted to run my own business said Paul ‘But I was concerned that with my lack of business knowledge and know how I might make a mess of it, so when I met Simon and the Clean Cut team I was immediately sold’ says Paul ‘They did not mention frogs in the recruitment process though’ he laughs.
Paul currently has the best conversion rate from enquiry to sale of any franchisee and is enjoying a successful start to his gardening career and is taking the residents of Skipton and Gargrave by storm.
As for the Franchisee manual, “it’s a great piece of kit” says Paul “I’ve already Reddit!”
Growing up on a large farm in New Zealand gave me a love for the outdoors, however somehow I managed to end up working in Hospitality.
After spending 20 years working in Hotels working long unpredictable hours making the company lots of money I decided that it's time to do what is best for me and my family both financially and for a better work life balance.
I stumbled across Clean Cut Franchise by mistake and after some web stalking decided to make the call and after speaking to Simon for 10 mins I was hooked, since then the support, guidance and training matches some of the multinational companies I have worked for yet with the personal approach makes it even better. It is a big step joining a franchise and I was nervous! But I was guided and coached all the way, and now I'm living the dream earning more money working less hours and seeing my family more than I ever could have previously dreamed of. I am looking forward to the next 12 months as they are sure to be even better.
I was born in South Africa, and my parents moved to the then Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) when I was very young, and this was where I grew up and was educated.
I have always had a love of the outdoors and achieved a diploma in agriculture.
However fate led me back to South Africa and somehow into the steel industry where I remained for the past 35 years. When I moved back to the UK I sought a new challenge.
Having looked at several franchises over the past year it was the Clean Cut opportunity that really interested me, not only because it gives me the opportunity to work outdoors once again but because I found it to be a very professional operation.
From being provided with top of the range equipment, excellent marketing strategies and even a dedicated call centre. I feel that I will be able to and look forward to making a very successful business in the Oxfordshire area over the next few years.
I’d spent the last 10 years working in a job which I found more and
more depressing every day, working until midnight and starting at 4am just wasn’t working for me or my family anymore. The money wasn’t great either.
I was made aware of Simon Studd and Clean Cut gardening by a friend so thought I’d find out a little more. I was obviously sceptical about handing over a large amount of money, as anyone would be, but a few meetings down the line and a chat with the existing franchisees soon put my mind at ease.
Being that I always wanted to be successfully self-employed, and considering my love for gardening I signed on the dotted line. I am already well on the way to exceeding my previous wage and am sure to increase that dramatically over the next few years.
I also have the quality of life I’ve missed for so many years and look forward to many more and the running and development of my own successful business.
Since becoming a Clean Cut franchisee I haven’t looked back. I first enquired about the Clean Cut franchise opportunity because I found working on my own as a gas engineer quite a daunting task. I worked too many hours for average pay but the main reason is the support network Clean Cut offers.
Being a one-man operation can be a lonely place but Clean Cut said it would always be there for me and I could learn from its vast years of experience. I am fully supported and receive regular emails, Skype and phone calls and one-to-one head office meetings.
After hitting my first year’s target this created a huge financial gain. I now have more than 50 regular lawn cuts and my first full-time member of staff. With Clean Cut’s help I can’t wait to expand my business again and I am excited by what the future holds.
I joined Clean Cut because I was in need of a new challenge.
For the previous five years I’d been working with the police force but had aspirations of running my own business and didn’t know where to start.
Since joining Clean Cut my life has changed dramatically.
I now get to choose the hours I work, which is handy now I have two small children.
The money has improved and, more importantly, I get great job satisfaction,
especially when I have transformed a client’s garden and they are delighted
with the results.
And I also now have great peace of mind and a sense ofwell-being. Clean Cut has certainly changed my life, it could change yours.
I became a Clean Cut franchisee in March 2014 and I simply hit the ground running.
Previously I was head green keeper at my local golf course. But after years of hard work and dedication I began to feel unappreciated and under – valued so I decided it was time to do something drastic and that’s when I came across the Clean Cut opportunity.
Although I was slightly nervous about running my own business I soon realised with the Clean Cut back office support network behind me I would never feel alone, and any worries I had were short lived.
Even the incoming calls are answered for me so I don’t have to down tools and race back to the van, scrabbling for a pen and paper to write the contact’s details down.
I would recommend to anyone who wants to go into business for themselves, who likes the outdoor life and being their own boss to get in touch with Clean Cut. If you’re anything like me you won’t regret the decision.
