It enjoys much repeat custom, particularly due to its location on the edge of the bonny village of New Luce in wigtownshire, Dumfries & Galloway. With the added advantage of having private parking for several cars, many of the visitors include tourists, golfers, fishers, hunters, walkers and astronomers. Although the business is trading successfully, it still has potential to grow income further. Tha Butchach is well situated to visit the Dark Sky Park and enjoy the wonderful skies from the Galloway Forrest.
New Luce is a quiet village in the Scottish unitary council area of Dumfries and Galloway. The village has a post office, shop and Church. The coast to coast walk, the Southern Upland Way, passes close to the village and Tha Butchach which provides the walker with a comfortable B&B. New Luce is surrounded by good walking countryside and there are a number of excellent golf courses nearby. The Galloway Forest Dark Sky Project is only a few miles away.
The area is served by buses which connect the main population centres. Express bus services link the main towns with Glasgow, Ayr, Edinburgh and Carlisle. Local bus services are also operated across the region.
Dumfries & Galloway is home to two ports which have services to Northern Ireland, both are in the west of the region. Stena Line have a port and P&O Irish Sea in the village of Cairnryan.
