Tenerife enjoys one of the best climates in the word with temperatures between 17 degrees and 21 degrees and even hitting 30 degrees in the summer. The South of the Island is hotter than the North as it is sheltered by Spain’s highest mountain, Mount Teide.

Tenerife is located in the Atlantic about 200 km from the North West coast of Africa. The trade winds moderate the temperature so that the summers do not become too suffocating.

During the winter it is possible to walk in the snow at the top of Mount Teide and later, lay on a sizzling golden beach in Los Cristianos or Playa de Las Americas.  Without a doubt it is truly a unique place to live.

Buying a business in Tenerife

Once you have made the decision to relocate to this beautiful island, you may decide to buy a business for sale in Tenerife. This can be done either leasehold or freehold. There is such a wide choice.


You might choose a bar in Tenerife such as a café bar in Las Americas or a bar restaurant in Los Cristianos. You could consider a traditional British pub in South Tenerife or maybe a Tenerife night club.

There are also many opportunities to buy non drink or non food related businesses for sale in Tenerife. You may prefer to buy a sign printing business or choose from one of the many dry cleaners serving the hotels and restaurants. There are even distribution companies in Tenerife as well as removal companies and other similar profitable businesses.

If you settle in South Tenerife, you do not necessarily need to speak Spanish. It will certainly help if you do and a basic level of Spanish is advised. I can say from experience that the more you learn, the more you will enjoy the rich culture of the island.

Make sure that you take time to enjoy and explore this amazing place. A trip up Mount Teide is essential; this can be done either on a coach trip or in a hire car. Take my advice and be careful, the roads are twisting and the drops long!

At 3718 meters high the views can be spectacular and on a clear day, you can see many of the other islands. There are Canary pines on the mountain and when the clouds cover the trees, their moisture runs into the ground and seeps into the many natural reservoirs beneath, this supplies the island with plenty of water.
