Bewdley is a town and civil parish in the Wyre Forest District of Worcestershire, along the Severn Valley a few miles to the west of Kidderminster. It lies on the River Severn, with a population of circa10,000. Once described as “the most perfect small Georgian town in Worcestershire”, situated on the banks of the River Severn and on the edge of the ancient Wyre Forest, Bewdley offers much to delight its residents and visitors being a magnet for “trippers” from The City of Birmingham (21 miles) and the greater West Midlands. Home to one of the country's largest inland river regattas, the town has always been an important river crossing. The first Bewdley Bridge was constructed in 1447 and the iconic arched stone bridge built by Thomas Telford in 1798 which still spans the river today, is testament to its industrial heritage.
The property dates back approx 550 years as a former coaching inn of renown and has a prominent locale on Kidderminster Road as you enter the town well above the flood line of the River. With the age of the property, it has retained its quirkiness throughout its public areas which include a beamed LOUNGE BAR (60+) with views of the Severn Valley Steam Railway as the trains chug along through the woodlands which surround the Hotel. SNUG BAR (24+) provides traditional Pub Games for the locals including Darts, Crib & Dominoes. DINNING ROOM (40c) is well presented and suited for a range of food offerings. CATERING KITCHEN is well equipped including a walk in refrigeration A FUNCTION ROOM (100) is located in an adjacent barn which once formed part of the stabling. BEER CELLARAGE is below ground. CLOAKROOM FACILITES are well presented.
5 rooms with facilities are available as B&B which is popular for fishermen and commercial use, having been recently renovated there is immense potential to build upon tourism to the area.
Currently a further 3 rooms are used by the family operators and could be adapted as further B&B with owners apartment above the function room ( stables).
There is hard surface parking for 25 vehicles, and a most attractive patio (100+) which during summer months is used as a Sunday BBQ. The vista from the patio resembles of the Dordogne region of France.

Our client has owned the business for around 2 years and is only offing it for assignment due to ill-health. We understand that records of sales will show a current level of circa £240,000 inc vat. The revenue from the B&B and food sales have yet to be shown however after a major investment by our clients during the past period , under a new ownership this should present a robust return on investment. As described, “a busy business waiting to get busy”!
