Metro Plumb – Just how big is the market for plumbing services?

Metro Plumb brings a natural extension of service for Spencer…
Spencer Horsfield has been a Metro Rod franchisee for over 16 years, renewing his franchise agreement with Metro Services Group 3 times! So when Metro Services Group announced their intention to launch a plumbing franchise to compliment the services offered by the group to end customers Spencer was keen to find out more.
Spencer is already running one of the top 5 franchise businesses in the group, but is always looking for opportunities to grow and diversify his business. When he looked into the details of the new Metro Plumb franchise opportunity he saw how easily he could incorporate this new business into his existing infrastructure.
Spencer runs a successful drainage business with 12 drainage engineers supported by 7 admin staff. Initially, Spencer intends to utilise his engineers who are already qualified as plumbers to meet the initial work load. However, as the new business becomes established Spencer intends to recruit new, qualified plumbers to grow the business with only a limited number of staff covering both brands.

“Our team have really enjoyed their training,” says Peter, “although they were capable of carrying out smaller plumbing tasks already, they’ve got a real boost from learning new skills and gaining extra knowledge. They’re now looking forward to the plumbing services adding even more variety to their daily work roles.”
