The pub predominantly caters for local residents. The pub has a strong drinking trade post 5pm and is male orientated.

The pub has a loyal following within the village, yet there is still potential to increase trade further by promoting teams and organising regular community events or activities. The events organisation should also encourage more families and females to use the pub to expand the customer base.

Western Rhyn is a small village set in the North West of Shropshire near Oswestry, with only two other pubs in the village.

The successful applicant will need to have previous experience of working within a community local pub or the retail environment. Knowledge of the local area would be advantageous.
