Ross on Wye is a large market town with a population of over 9,000 people. It is located on the River Wye, and on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. All amenities are within walking distance including schools, a doctor's surgery and a variety of other businesses.

The King Charles II has a core local customer base and attracts a healthy tourist trade during the summer months. The pub has a good mixture of regular entertainment and quiz nights.
