Glendale House is a substantial property which has been extended over the years from the original croft house built in the 1960’s. The main building has been divided very cleverly into 4 apartments and self-contained owner’s accommodation all with their own external entrance and all with a view towards the sea. The bar/restaurant area is also within the main building. Simple bar meals are available and there is seating for up to 22 covers. The property includes the amenity of a heated swimming pool. The proprietors operate their business effectively to ensure a level of income that meets their present needs. By choice, they limit operation of the business and for the present the apartments are rented out on short-term lets. New owners could operate the business at its current leisurely level or could trade it to a higher level by marketing the apartments more vigorously as holiday lets and operating the bar and restaurant to a fuller potential . The area around Gairloch including South Erradale is a well known tourist destination on the West Coast of Scotland with an un-spoilt coastline and stunning views over to Skye and the Outer Hebridean Islands of Harris and Lewis. Its rugged shoreline and beautiful sandy beaches appeal to a wide range of tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. The idyllic setting of South Erradale and neighbouring settlements is also a great place to set up home with its small but lively community. Gairloch has a strong sense of community and has the full range of community facilities and vibrant local businesses. The North West Coast of Scotland attracts a large number of visitors with its stunning scenery, pristine waters, natural landscapes and an abundance of fauna and flora. Many visitors to the area take advantage of the challenging hills; Gairloch is on the doorstep of the mighty Torridon range of mountains and also the Fisherfield area well known to walkers and climbers. Others enjoy the excellent river and sea fishing available locally or going out in local boats to view seals, otters or to glimpse dolphins, porpoises and whales. The more sedate sightseer may visit the many places of historic and cultural interest. Many tourists undertaking a touring holiday of the West Coast often stay over in Gairloch for a few nights prior to heading north to Ullapool. The present owners bought Glendale House in 2002 and it has offered them an enjoyable, rewarding and successful lifestyle to date. They have greatly improved the property during this time and as a result it is brought to the market with the owner’s living areas and the self-catering apartments attractively decorated and presented. It is due to family circumstances that the proprietors have chosen to bring this excellent home and income opportunity to the market. THE PROPERTY The present imposing building has been built around the original croft house and is of traditional construction under a slate roof. There are open views from the property to all sides and a large car park to the front.
