Southminster Butchers is a small but busy retail butchery with some trade business supplying meat to the residents and other small businesses of the Dengie Hundred area and further afield. There are currently four employees two of which are full time, one that is flexible (usually Tuesday and Friday) and one Saturday staff member. The building has housed a butchery business since 1959 when it was built by two local farmers requiring an outlet for their quality animals and has consistently supplied excellent quality produce until now. The leasehold premises consist of the entire lower floor or a two story building, 3 off road parking spaces in front of a 6 meter full height window leading to a shop front housing 2x 2.5m serveover refrigerated display units, a 1.5m s/s counter height fridge next to storage cupboard, a 1m multideck display and a wire shelf unit. In the middle of the building is a cutting room with sink and associated butchery equipment and at the rear are two further rooms, one containing a second walk in fridge and some storage, and the other housing some freezers and other large equipment. There is also a rear door for access to a small sectioned off area for bin storage etc.
