Business Description
ABOUT TINIES

Tinies is the largest childcare recruitment Franchise in the UK, with 31 branches across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Tinies franchises recruit and supply nannies, maternity nannies, babysitters, emergency childcare and nursery staff, as well as running mobile crèches for hotels, companies and weddings, and manage and run after school and holiday clubs.

Tinies has an established database of over 70,000 childcarers, who are vetted and placed by the Tinies branches. We have a reputation for only supplying quality childcare and providing excellent customer service when placing childcarers, which is evidenced in our client feedback.

Tinies is part of the My Family Care Group, and therefore benefits from a close relationship with a large company that specialises in providing employee benefits to large UK corporations. In particular, My Family Care offers emergency childcare to employees of companies such as Sky, Google, PwC, Barclays, Lloyds, IBM, UBS to name but a few. Tinies franchises are the main supplier of emergency nannies to the My Family Care clients.

Buying a Tinies franchise is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to own their own business, that could potentially be run from a smart, accessible home office. You do not need any previous childcare experience, nor do you need to have worked in recruitment. A person with a strong work ethic, and excellent people skills, is just what we are looking for.

THE NUMBERS AND THE FRANCHISE PACKAGE

Tinies gross revenue across the franchise was £4.6m in 2017, with consistent growth over the years (gross revenue was £3.9m in 2013).  When buying an established franchise, a buyer can expect to make profit from day one, as the business and the childcarers are already in place.

One branch owner generated 3.9 times her investment in revenue within the first 12 months of trading.

The asking price for buying a Tinies franchise varies depending upon that branch’s revenue, potential areas for growth and the geographical size of the branch. When you buy a Tinies franchise, you get an established childcare recruitment business with a database of childcarers and clients in your designated geographic area. You will also receive a full handover with the outgoing owner as well as Head Office training. The package includes a 5 year franchise agreement which is automatically renewed without any further franchise fee to be paid.

When you buy a Tinies franchise, you receive access to all the Tinies know-how, policies, standard forms and ongoing daily support and advice from Head Office, where a team of dedicated individuals are on hand to help you run your business. You also have access to all marketing materials and a centrally run national marketing campaign run by Head Office covering SEO, website development, Adwords, Job board advertising, Social Media sites and PR support. Training, newsletters, network support from fellow franchisees, conferences, webinars and business development advice are provided to all Tinies branches. In addition, your branch will have a presence on the main Tinies website (which attracts 40,000 unique visitors per month and 3,000 childcarer registrations) and your childcare jobs will automatically be posted onto the Tinies website.

Small, medium and large sized franchises are available throughout the UK ranging in price from £24,000 to £250,000.

WHAT ARE THE NORMAL FRANCHISE COSTS GOING FORWARD

After you have paid the sale price for your branch, then your basic monthly franchise costs include the franchise monthly fee, which is 10.5% on net revenue (as opposed to gross revenue, which is what most franchisors charge). Plus you also pay a monthly marketing fee to cover the cost of the centrally run national marketing campaign, which currently stands at £303 per month.  Other costs include insurance, database licence fees and membership to REC (the Recruitment and Employment Confederation).

WHAT DO SOME OF OUR FRANCHISEES SAY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE OF BEING PART OF THE TINIES FRANCHISE

“I would never have thought that by the age of 34 I would have 5 Tinies Branches with a turnover of £1m” Claire Adams

“Someone asked me the other day if I would consider setting up on my own. My answer was simple - No. The backing and support offered as part of a Tinies franchise is fabulous. At the start it is very reassuring to know someone is always there at the end of the phone to help out and as my business has grown I have been able to ask Head Office for further support and ideas. I am also able to dip into a huge range of knowledge, experience and expertise around the Tinies network as well as having access to an intranet filled with every policy, procedure, letter and document I could ever need. Why would I even attempt to do it all alone? ” Fiona Atkinson

“I chose a Tinies franchise because you start off with the benefit of an existing brand, and Tinies has a pooled marketing budget which means we can advertise nationally. We also get lots of supply contracts through the franchisor and it provides details of changes in legislation and a database to help run the business. The package also includes a website which I would not have had the time or expertise to set up myself. 18 months after buying my franchise, I had 2 staff working for me and I bought a 2nd franchise as well.” Cassandra Day

SUMMARY

The core part of Tinies business is childcare recruitment (we do not run our own nurseries). A typical Tinies franchise will supply temporary and permanent staff to local authority nurseries and private run nurseries; it will supply permanent and temporary nannies to families; it will run temporary mobile creches for parties, weddings, corporate events. And some Tinies branches also run after school and holiday clubs. However, no childcare experience is necessary to become a Tinies franchisee. We are looking for hard working, business-minded individuals, who are prepared to grow this business with us. If you think that’s you, then please get in touch today to find out what branches we have for sale and to request a brochure.
