The Uplawmoor Hotel occupies a prominent detached roadside location within the village of Uplawmoor, in East Renfrewshire. In the 19th Century Uplawmoor was mainly an estate village for workers of the Caldwell Estate.
Located around 13 miles south west of Glasgow City Centre, the village is easily accessible via the A736 Barrhead to Irvine Road which runs just to the west and is 15 minutes from junction 2 on the busy M77. Glasgow Airport is only 9 miles north, with the Ayrshire Coast within 15 miles.
There are a host of local amenities and excellent transport links in the neighbouring villages and towns such as Neilston, Barrhead and the main town of Paisley.
The population of the village has increased over the last year due to 40 new executive houses being built, with 30 more still in the pipeline.

Purchased in 1992, the Uplawmoor Hotel has traded well over the years and is currently run under management with a full complement of staff, with the owners assisting in the day to day running. Over the years, the hotel has been extensively refurbished and now trades with 3 Stars from Visit Scotland and 3 star with AA and is instantly recognisable due to its pleasing white washed façade and hanging baskets. Over the years the owners have taken a lot of time establishing the business into not just an excellent trading concern but also having great respect for its customers and thus adding a Scottish Thistle Award for Customer Care to their accolades. Other accolades include SLTN Pub Caterer of the Year, Highly Commended Gastro Pub at the Dram Awards, Member of the Scottish Beef Club, CAMRA Guide Listing and for the last 5 years, “Certificate of Excellence” by TripAdvisor.
The hotel has also built up a reputation for personalised service and genuine Scottish hospitality, with guests travelling from many of the surrounding areas to sample the culinary delights. Renowned for its use of fresh, natural produce and extensive menus in both the restaurant and the lounge bar.
In terms of trade, the business has produced good levels of income through the years which is split approximately 52% food, 20% accommodation and 28% wet. With the hotels location to the M77 and proximity to Glasgow Airport it is felt that the accommodation is an area that could be grown particularly within the commercial/corporate markets.
The hotel is also listed in the CAMRA Guide, with guests able to enjoy the open beer garden during the warmer summer months and cater for small private functions and meetings however this is another area that could be explored further by a new owner.
For bookings, the hotel uses various websites such as, and most importantly its own website
