This is an incredibly impressive, long established and highly specialised business with a large, prestigious customer base. There is plenty of scope to develop the business further with the introduction of a strong marketing drive – our client has never needed to advertise due to word of mouth recommendations. In order to accept a higher workload, this proposition may be best suited to an owner operating team or a new owner looking to recruit additional specialists who could push the business forward and build upon the solid and impressive trading foundations. Early meetings with our client are very strongly advised.

The Scagliola Company was established in 1985 on a sole trader basis by Michael Koumbouzis, following painstaking research around the subject and extensive practical experimenting with pigments, plasters, admixtures and associated processes; this was to establish the best way to produce Scagliola in its many diverse forms. In many stages the assistance of reputed plaster conservators, experienced stuccatori, various associations and manufacturers, was called upon to assist with outcomes.
Since its foundation the firm has gone from strength to strength, with the first major project being the very prestigious and talked about at the time, restoration at The Spencer House, St James’s, London, as early as 1987. In the subsequent years many more restoration projects have been awarded to us, Stowe House, Lancaster House, etc., (please see below for a fuller list); also construction and installation projects in prominent locations as in Le Richemond Hotel, Geneva, (a 5 star luxury Hotel beside Lake Garda), where 28 round and square columns and pilasters were constructed and along with their bases and capitals, were transported across Europe and installed.
The Scagliola Company over the last 3 decades and under the guidance of its Director Michael Koumbouzis has established a worldwide reputation; he has become an authority in the making of various finishes in Scagliola, often being approached for large projects abroad.
