During our clients stewardship they have gained a dedicated commitment from qualified carers, vetted and trained by Care Never Sleeps, giving their clients the peace of mind that comes from knowing they are in capable hands. They have close, everyday communications and care co-ordination, thus providing an effective professional service, with care reports monitoring progress at every stage. Our clients always run a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Once registered with them, new carers take part in their extensive induction program, which is followed by specific training modules tailored to meet their individual needs. Once a carer is offered and take up a position with a client, they are closely monitored and supervised throughout their placement. This rigorous preparation ensures that carers are selected from a team of skilled professionals, with the expertise necessary to embrace clients needs, 365 days a year.

Home Care: Step-by-Step

Step One: Understanding Your Needs
However simple or complex their clients needs a Service User Care Plan will be formulated by the carer and everyone else who has a vested interest in the clients care provision - e.g. family members or external professionals. This enables their clients to live as independently and comfortably as is possible in their circumstances. Prior to the start of the service, their client will be introduced to a few carers - each one fully conversant with the necessary skills and experience to provide the care that their client needs. Each carer will be selected on their personal compatibility with their client, which we feel is necessary - especially for the provision of a live-in care service. Thus choice is a key operating principle for us.

Step Two: Engaging the Carer and Implementing the Package
A weekly or bi-weekly rota will then be implemented in accordance with their clients choice of carer. Their choice of service will be tailored exactly to their needs: a live-in or hours package. They offer a live-in care service which enables the client to remain in the comfort of their own home thus staving off the daunting prospect of selling their property and moving into a residential or nursing home. Throughout the live-in care service the carer will take on all aspects of their clients previous role i.e. housework, shopping etc. The carer will accompany their client to doctor/dental hospital appointments, where necessary.

Our clients hours package is no less comprehensive: again, tailoring the engagement of the right carer (selected by their client, with choice uppermost in mind) and ensuring that the right balance between needs and affordability is struck and maintained throughout. The carer will ensure that their client maintains all aspects of his/her life such as going to the cinema, meeting friends and generally ensuring they have an active social life, where applicable. As a company, they also like to include, not exclude, family members who have previously contributed to the care of the client, as they feel that they offer a greater insight, which would be extremely helpful in their provision of care.

Step Three: Constant Monitoring and Feedback
Our clients believe in choice, trust and openness as the core operating principles that should guide their home care offering. Therefore, with this last point in mind - openness – they invite their clients to provide them with feedback on how their carers perform, in all aspects of their work and behaviours - and they will openly publish this feedback, but of course, carefully ensure that anything related to the personal aspects of the client will remain strictly confidential.

Our clients inform us that annual turnover currently runs at £99,000 which is derived from the fantastic services they provide. All of their clients have a Mevarius Electronic Monitoring System in place which not only saves them money but also has added better working dynamic to the company. All the staff are NVQ level 3 qualified which exceeds minimum requirement of working towards level 3. Our client is happy to do a hand over period and help if required.
