MAIN BAR AREA, an attractively furnished room with slate tiled floor, part panelled walls. Open fireplace with cast iron solid fuel burner installed. The room is ‘L’ shaped and arranged around a CENTRAL BAR SERVERY which has tongue and grooved panelled frontage and marble topped counter. The room has traditional and contemporary style seating currently arranged for 30 customers. Steps down into a DINING ROOM which has carpeted floor, beamed ceiling, part exposed stone walls, corner fireplace with cast iron log burner installed with antique brick surround and flagged hearth. There is traditional button upholstered fixed wall seating and loose matching high backed chairs currently arranged for 20 diners. A set of LADIES, GENTLEMEN’S and DISABLED TOILETS.
The RESTAURANT is an excellent facility, carpeted and well appointed having part fixed wall seating and loose dining chairs and tables able to cater for 46 customers. There is double glazed door access onto a trade garden which acts as an overflow dining area. There is a feature fireplace with exposed antique brick chimney breast with oak beam lintel and cast iron solid fuel burner installed.
The CATERING KITCHEN is large and well appointed, has Altro non slip flooring, fully sealed walls and comprehensive selection of stainless steel catering effects and work surfaces. There is direct external access into a good DRY STORE which has walk-in coldroom and forms part of the main structure of the building and is accessed via a covered area. There is also a further service compound with large timber built outbuilding utilised as a GENERAL STORE with lean to log store adjacent.
At lower ground floor is a BEER CELLAR which is arranged in two sections. MAIN ALE CELLAR with general store adjacent. There is also a lockable wines/spirits stockroom of good size off the main trading areas.
At first floor is a FUNCTION ROOM which can cater for 80 customers in banqueting style seating. It is slightly ‘L’ shaped with wood sprung dance floor in a return wing. The room is carpeted and has traditional slat back dining chairs and tables able to cater for 80 customers.

The grounds are a feature of the pub and set in 0.35 of an acre. There is decked and paved area adjacent to the main entrance and to the side is a two level TRADE GARDEN partially patioed with a pergola. The upper area being fully decked and partially shaded by a permanently situated large parasol. Throughout these areas is external seating for up to 50 customers. There is tarmacked and gravel CAR PARKING providing space for up to 20 vehicles.
The Carpenters Arms is a traditional cottage style pub located in the sought after village of Coed-Y-Paen in West Monmouthshire. It stands adjacent to the renowned beauty spot of the Llandegfedd Reservoir. Nearby is also the well known Woodlake Park Golf Club and the riverside market town of Usk is approximately three miles distant. To the west is the more industrial area of Torfaen with the well known town of Pontypool being six miles.
