Our clients took on the premises which previously traded as ‘Crossing the Rubicon’ in December 2018 and traded it as was for about 6 months before undertaking an extensive refurbishment and reopening as the Machair Bar around July 2019.
The business is still very much in its infancy, but in this relatively short time has developed a strong reputation as a good community bar specialising in Whisky and craft beer, as well as serving a good selection of quality, Scottish gastro-pub food, and enjoys a good mix of clientele of locals and regulars which is supplemented by visitors and tourists.
The business offers live music on Fridays and Saturdays as well as a pub quiz on a Sunday which have proved popular.

Due to our client’s other business, the Machair has been run predominantly by staff, and our clients have not always been able to give the business their full focus and the attention it requires.
