A Taste o’ Speyside has been in operation for over 30 years and throughout this time has established itself as a popular venue for tourists and locals alike. Sitting in the centre of Dufftown (the self-proclaimed Whisky capital of the world) the restaurant markets itself as a true Scottish experience offering the finest quality of ingredients, along with a range of Malt Whisky’s, some of which are distilled just a short walk down the road at Glenfiddich Distillery. The restaurant is fully licensed and currently set for 32 covers although there is an opportunity to configure the seating area and increase to over 50 covers. At present is run by the owners with one front of house and one as chef. Part time staff as and when required. A Taste of Speyside is open 12noon to 2pm, and 6pm to 9pm, Tuesday to Saturday, closed on a Sunday and Monday. There is opportunity to increase revenue by extending opening hours and days. A Taste of Speyside occupies a prominent position in the centre of Dufftown close to historic clock tower where the 4 main streets converge. Equal distance from both Inverness and Aberdeen the town is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and scenic countryside that the North East has to offer. Dufftown has a variety of interesting local shops, a bank, post office, primary school and doctor’s surgery. The larger towns of Keith (10 miles) and Huntly (14 miles) offer additional shops, supermarkets and secondary schooling. Elgin, the administrative capital of Moray is under 20 miles away with excellent shopping and recreational facilities including leisure centre, ice rink and cinema. There are excellent transport links with the main line railway stations at both Keith and Huntly. Inverness airport offers a good selection of flights to UK destinations whilst Aberdeen airport has an excellent range of national and international flights.
Dufftown is a wonderful location for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits and Moray is renowned for fishing, shooting, golf, hill walking, mountain biking and has some of the most beautiful long sandy beaches. Skiing is available a short distance away at the Lecht in the Cairngorms National Park.
