We believe this is a great opportunity for a person/couple or business to get a foot in the door into New Zealand. To own a business here would certainly be diversifying their interests for many resons. We would look at a deal whereas we would still look after the market here in New Zealand for at least 12 months while the UK market is developed and the new owner/s get comfortable into travel wholesale. Setting up a travel wholesale company is about being accepted within the industry as a wholesale travel company, and as such our main task was to create our brand acceptance worldwide. We have, for a number of years, attended trade shows throughout the world. We are now in the enviable position where we are invited and hosted to many of these shows in many countries. One of the exciting things about being in the travel wholesale industry is we are invited to many countries for many types of trade shows and familiarisations in order to increase our product and destinational knowledge and also to select products and services that we feel are appropriate to our markets. We have an excellent relationship and rapport with the various tourism bureaus, products and services throughout the world and work very closely with them. We have close relationships with on-ground and inbound companies in many countries.
Taking 10 years to achieve this first stage in the company development, our position is much valued. The investment to get the company to this level has been many millions of dollars. After 40 years in the business it is time we retired back from this. Loved every minute, but time to do other things. We have travelled the world many times.
During the last 10 years we have researched, and developed a number of initiatives including our website www.packyabags.com which really has only been aimed at the trade. This will give a very good idea what we are and where we are going. However, there is still much to do and accomplish and the website is only our shop front and not the main way in which create business. The content on the site is really only a very small amount of products and service we have access to as this runs into many thousands from many countries.
Our research during this time has been able to tell us what and how clients require their travel requests and reservations. Because of this the main focus is the reason to travel, working with clients very closely to create a package designed for them and not just off the shelf style tours. Existing major wholesalers do not have the flexibility to cater to such clients. We are well known for being able to source product and services for any type of travel.
There are a number of initiatives in place, ready to expand and create as much business as desired. This will be discussed if interest is shown.
To us, the travel wholesale side of our industry is the most interesting. Our role is finding and supplying product, tours and services throughout the countries we work with and then to make the reservations for the retail travel agencies or our own specialist network. It makes for a very interesting, and unique lifestyle together with regular travel overseas.
We attend travel trade shows through much of Asia, UK/ Europe, Africa, The Pacific (North and South) and Oceania which includes Australia and New Zealand.
