What Is A Normal Day Like As A Mobile Car Valeter?

Step 1: A hearty breakfast!

Mobile valeting is a very physical job, ideal for people who like being on the move all the time. Like any good day, start with a strong breakfast.

Step 2: Get the van ready

Before starting your day you need to ensure you have enough water, fuel in the generator, cloths for the day and cleaning chemicals. The best way to organise yourself is to keep everything tidy and know where everything is.

Step 3: First customer

Let’s get started!

Following our company’s ethos by being punctual, providing excellent customer service and making the customer’s life easier by ensuring a spotless car. Usually the first job will start around 8.00am. A day typically lasts from 8.00am till 4.30pm, although generally summer days are longer and winter days shorter. The first job would normally be something like a 2 hour full valet from 8.00-10.00 with the next customer being booked in for 10.30. With the Fresh system, your diary will be kept as efficient as possible for you while you get on with the important stuff – looking after customers!

Step 4: Achieve 2-6 happy customers per day!

Daily, you will have around two to six jobs that will ensure customer’s satisfaction but also secure your financial responsibilities. A normal day would involve revenue of around £180-240. This could be two signature valets (£120 each), 4 full valets (£60 each) or a mix of smaller packages. Your job is to give excellent customer service, pay attention to every small detail and keep yourself & your van presentable.

Step 5:  It depends…

If you’re a Fresh franchisee step five will look something like this:

– Give the van a quick wash
– Go home, put your feet up and relax!

If you run your own valeting company, step five looks more like this:

– Give the van a quick wash
– Send invoices
– Check finances
– Check Google rankings + adverts
– Check Facebook adverts
– Try and figure out new ways to get customers
– Email back customers who emailed during the day
– Call customers back you missed (who probably already found someone else) while you were driving or valeting
– Social media posts on Facebook and Instagram
– Update website
– Order chemicals
– Reply to Facebook messages
– Order any equipment you need
– Clean cloths in washing machine

Those are some of the jobs you have to do (on top of 40+ hours a week of valeting) if you’re on your own. That’s not even all of them!

If you’re interested in running your own mobile valeting business but you want to look after customers and don’t want to have to do marketing, sales, finance, recruitment, administration, social media and answering enquiries, then we might be the right partner for you to take the next step!
