Situation :-
The beautiful village of Kettlewell (5 minutes walk from the campsite) is set in a steep, narrow part of the dale, where the old coach road over Park Rash Pass, from Middleham and Coverdale, joins Wharfedale. The village sits under the slopes of Great Whernside on one side of the valley, and Knipe Scar on the other. There is a beck flowing through the centre of the village, and joins into the river Wharfe, that runs alongside Kettlewell in the valley bottom. The area is famous for its dry stone walls and isolated stone barns, which are a conspicuous feature of this part of the dales.
​The village is a popular tourist destination, especially since the recent All Creatures Great and Small series which was filmed in the village and the nearby town of Grassington. It’s a central area for exploring the dales where visitors enjoy hiking, cycling and experiencing the stunning scenery.
