Overview
Description
Once an old coaching in and former watering hole for horse-drovers travelling between Faversham and Ashford in Kent, the Rose Inn is now a wet led, community focused pub that has been serving the Kennington locals for the last 150 years.
Located in Ashford, Kent, Kennington is a residential area that sits just one mile northeast of the main town centre with easy access to Ashford International Station.
Managed by just two sets of tenants over the last thirty years, the Rose Inn is integral to community life in Kennington and is a shining example of what a great locals pub can bring to an area. Open seven days a week, from 1pm until 11pm Monday to Thursday and 12 Noon until 11pm Friday to Sunday, the Rose has an action-packed calendar of events. The week kicks off with two crib teams on a Monday evening, poker league on a Tuesday night, darts on a Wednesday, two pool teams on a Thursday, busy locals’ night on a Friday, live music one a month on a Saturday and a meat raffle and board games evening every Sunday. Four TV screens and TNT sports make it one of the best pubs in the area to watch the latest live sport action and the monthly quiz night is a huge hit and sell out with the locals.
From Monday to Saturday, a limited food menu with homemade pub classics and bar snacks is available every lunchtime and evening with a traditional roast on offer Sundays. The restaurant dining room can double up as private event space for up to 100 covers, so the Rose also plays host to a wide range of private parties, after funeral gatherings and events.
Internally you will find the Rose in great condition throughout, the L-shaped trade area houses a central feature bar servery, the main bar area for approx.50 covers, the saloon bar for 25 covers and the restaurant dining area for a further 20 covers. The trade kitchen is of a good size and is well equipped with plenty of storage space.
Outside you will find an enclosed courtyard style garden to left of the property and a large patio area with bench style seating to the right of the building for approx.80 to100 covers in total. There is also a large barn which is currently used as a storage area and private parking for six cars.
Due to retirement, the Rose Inn is now looking for new tenants that will immerse themselves into the Kennington community, so for more information or to arrange a formal viewing, please contact us now on 01795 542132.
